Wuyi Mountain Jade Guanyin Oolong Tea

from £14.00

Harvested in late spring from the core growing region of Wuyi Mountain, this lightly roasted Jade Guanyin is cultivated in cool, mist-filled valleys where the temperature difference between day and night regularly exceeds 10°C. With less than five hours of direct sunlight each day, the leaves develop a rich concentration of chlorophyll, giving the tea remarkable vitality and depth.

Picked on clear afternoons, the leaves undergo warm-air withering followed by careful oxidation, allowing their natural floral fragrance to fully emerge. A gentle finishing roast preserves the tea's freshness while adding softness and structure, resulting in a luminous golden infusion with elegant orchid aromatics, a silky texture, and a lingering sweetness that remains clear and refreshing through many infusions.

Brew with water at around 100°C, using short infusions—beginning at approximately six seconds and adding two seconds with each subsequent steep. This gradual unfolding allows the orchid fragrance to remain vivid from the first cup to the last.

At Yushu, Andy often says that every time he drinks this tea, it feels like looking into a mirror. Its quiet clarity has a way of reflecting the drinker back to themselves. Rather than overwhelming the senses, Jade Guanyin invites stillness—revealing layer after layer with patience, leaving behind a gentle sweetness, an open mind, and a calm that lingers long after the final sip.
