Born in Kyoto in 1971, she began her studies in glassmaking at a Tokyo glass studio after an encounter with vintage glassware at an antique market. Following her work at EZRA Glass in Fukui Prefecture and Notojima Glass Studio, she established her own independent practice in Kanazawa. Today, she creates glassworks at the Makiyama Glass Studio.
