Fujian Taimu Mountain 2017 Aged White Tea

from £10.00

福鼎太姥山2017老白茶

Harvested from Taimu Mountain in Fuding, the birthplace of white tea, this tea is grown at an altitude of 680 meters, where it is nourished year-round by the sea breeze from the Taiwan Strait. The mountain’s misty, cloud-covered landscape, often referred to as the “Fairyland on the Sea,” creates the ideal conditions for cultivating Taimu Mountain white tea, renowned for its pure, lingering sweetness—a characteristic that sets it apart from white teas from other regions.

This tea is meticulously processed using the traditional sun-drying method, strictly avoiding accelerated oxidation techniques such as fermentation or piling. This ensures a fresh, clean taste with a distinctive sun-kissed aroma, preserving the tea’s original character and purity.

Today, authentic traditionally processed white tea accounts for only about 2% of the market, as the widespread preference for fermentation techniques has led to the dominance of artificially aged flavors. This makes true sun-dried white tea increasingly rare and highly sought after.

Pair this tea with our rust-textured Yiyi Bodhidharma Gaiwan for an elevated brewing experience.
