Weida GaoLi Teapot | Purple Zhu Clay

£250.00

Among the classic teapot designs passed down through centuries of history, Weida has successfully integrated the ideas and creativity of a new generation of artisans into traditional craftsmanship. This approach not only carries forward the timeless style but also better aligns with the daily tea-drinking habits and requirements of contemporary individuals.

“Purple Zhu Clay, also known as ‘Black King Kong’ (黑金刚), is a unique clay formulation first developed by Master Craftsman Xie Hua. It is another clay I selected for crafting tea-serving vessels for Phoenix Dan Cong tea. My choice mirrors that of Zhu Ni Da Hong Pao: to optimise the brewing of highly aromatic teas like Phoenix Dan Cong. Compared to the luminous Zhu Ni (Da Hong Pao), its hue is more subdued, exhibiting a deep black with hints of red.” —Weida

Material: Purple Zhu Clay
