Purple Cloud uses carefully selected purple bud tea trees, a unique Yunnan tea variety. Each spring, we meticulously harvest the first, second, and third leaves at peak maturity. Purple buds are rich in unique anthocyanins, resulting in a rich, supple spring tea leaf, laying the foundation for flavourful craftsmanship.
Fresh leaves are alternately air-dried indoors and then exposed outdoors in the sun for approximately one week. This process precisely controls temperature and humidity, activating enzyme activity and promoting a deep and slow transformation of the leaves.
Purple Cloud embodies the exquisite craftsmanship of the rare purple bud variety and Yunnan white tea. Its unique indoor and outdoor withering process, followed by a late-stage process of cultivating aromas and cooling, creates a bright orange-yellow tea, a rich aroma of apricot and palm leaves, and a mellow, smooth, and refreshing flavour.
Picked in 2022, Purple Cloud has shed the coldness of new tea and possesses excellent aging potential. It continues to mellow over time, developing a more rounded and profound flavour.
