The Luohen series had been taking shape in Fenghui’s mind for quite some time. Every Monday morning in Jingdezhen, he wanders through the ghost market, surrounded by countless ceramics, both new and old, in a wide variety of forms and styles. Many of the older pieces, though beautiful, are scratched or damaged, yet it is these traces of time that give them their unique charm. The scene moved him deeply. He began to wonder how he could capture this sense of imperfection in his own work, preserving the marks of time without compromising function. Through continuous experimentation and refinement, the Luohen series gradually came into being.
In creating these pieces, Fenghui avoided excessive decoration and complex forms, choosing instead to preserve a sense of simplicity and honesty. Each teapot in this series carries the potential to bear the marks of time, bringing a quiet presence and a moment of reflection to the tea table.
