Daguan "Chi" Tea Scoop
大官《赤》茶则
Creation is a slow and attentive process. Some pieces follow the natural character of the wood, while others draw on the textured depth of urushi lacquer. The work aims for a balance between utility and beauty, keeping the forms simple and allowing carving to strengthen and energise each line. It becomes a meeting point between two cultures, blending tradition with the contemporary. Within this approach, “Chi” represents the rawness of nature and the original intention behind making wooden vessels, an honest expression of understanding that forms a quiet connection with the user. Each piece is made to enter daily life gently, carrying either a sense of calm strength or the ease of a passing breeze, settling into its surroundings with quiet grace.
Material: Cherry Wood, Urushi Lacquer
Technique: Hand-carved
