1993 Aged Liubao Tea
Origin
Produced in 1993 using traditional master blending techniques, this tea has been naturally aged in dry storage for more than thirty years.
Made from premium-grade leaves, it has developed a clean and well-defined aged character through slow transformation.
Rather than becoming heavy or earthy, the tea remains remarkably clear, balanced, and composed.
Time & Transformation
Unlike freshly made tea, aged Liubao continues to evolve long after production.
Over three decades of careful dry storage, the sharper edges gradually soften.
The tea develops two defining characteristics:
a clean aged aroma and a deep woody fragrance.
The aged aroma brings warmth and depth.
The woody notes recall old timber that has quietly matured with time.
Neither dominates.
Together they create a calm, lasting expression.
In the Cup
The dry leaves are tightly twisted, dark brown, and naturally glossy.
The liquor is deep amber-red, bright and transparent.
The texture is smooth and full without bitterness.
Woody notes linger in the empty cup,
while the sweetness gradually returns after each sip.
It is a tea with quiet strength—
warm, grounded, and deeply comforting.
Tea & Teaware
茶与器
Like the tea itself, this tea setting is quiet in its expression.
Nothing is decorative for its own sake.
Each piece was chosen to complement the calm, grounded character of aged Liubao.
At the centre of the set is a Hemingshan clay teapot by Zhendong.
Its mineral-rich clay retains warmth while allowing the tea to develop slowly through each infusion.
The rounded form encourages a full, even extraction, bringing together the tea's aged aroma, woody depth, and smooth texture.
The wild Yixing clay fairness cup preserves the richness of the liquor without sacrificing clarity.
The Korean slip-glazed teacup offers a soft tactile contrast, making each sip feel warm and unhurried.
The dark wooden tray, natural stoneware, cloth coaster, and lacquer tea scoop share the same understated character.
There is no unnecessary ornament.
Only honest materials that age beautifully with use.
Like the tea, these vessels are not designed to impress immediately.
They become more rewarding through time.
