“Baixiang, White Elephant”

Yunnan Ancient Tree White Tea

With Malec Fustok, artist

The blessing from the forest

Baixiang (White Elephant) is a Yunnan ancient-tree white tea shaped by time, ecology, and quiet patience. Its name originates from Dai (傣家) cultural traditions, where the white elephant symbolises auspiciousness, strength, and spiritual vitality. This symbolism echoes the tea’s essence, crafted exclusively from ancient tea trees over 400 years old, whose deep roots draw nourishment from untouched mountain soil.

Harvested according to a strict standard of one bud with two to three tender leaves, Baixiang reflects the profound inner substance unique to ancient trees. These ancient trees produce leaves rich in active compounds and layered mountain character, shaping a tea of remarkable depth, clarity, and energy. The tea is full-bodied yet restrained, expressing a measured balance between energy and calm.

Preserved without high-temperature processing, Baixiang retains exceptional ageing potential. When stored properly in a sealed, cool, dry, and light-free environment, its aroma gradually deepens while the liquor becomes increasingly rounded, thick, and harmonious. Over time, layers of fragrance and mouthfeel unfold with growing complexity.
