Making Sense of Tea with Lin Wang

from £90.00

A one-day introductory workshop with Lin Wang

“Through tea, I found my way home.”

With just a simple setup — a gaiwan, a cup, a few leaves, and the sound of boiling water — a quiet space begins to open. Over time, this small, living space has grown into something that can be shared with others: a place where stillness, beauty, and connection naturally unfold.

Making Sense of Tea is a one-day introductory workshop that invites participants to approach Chinese tea as a living, experiential practice. Rather than focusing only on knowledge or technique, it offers a gentle entry point into sensing, understanding, and working with tea in a more personal and embodied way.

The day is structured in three parts — Sensing, Knowing, and Doing — each lasting around two hours and also available as individual drop-in sessions.

We begin with Sensing, grounding perception through guided tasting, allowing tea to be experienced through the body and the senses.

In Knowing, we explore the world of Chinese tea — its categories, origins, and the relationship between leaf, environment, and craft.

Finally, in Doing, we move into practice with Gongfu Cha, exploring how brewing can become a quiet, attentive ritual.

This workshop is about creating space to slow down, reconnect with the senses, and discover how tea can gently become part of everyday life.

Date: 30 May, 2026
Sensing: 11:00 am-1:30 pm
Knowing: 2:30-5:00 pm
Doing: 5:30-8:00 pm
